Prompt for Day 15
Pick out a few lines you like from a poem that you don’t otherwise feel was very successful. Say them over to yourself. Now hum them. See if you can find the tune. And now sing them aloud. Throwing away the rest of the poem, write two more stanzas (stand-alone or connected) that go to the same tune.
I can really belt this one out in the shower. In my mind, it's kind of a toss up between country and folk.
LAZY BOY
Lazy boy, don't lie to your mother.
Lazy man, don't lie to your wife.
Lazy daddy, don't lie to your children.
You been lyin' all of your life.
Got no job, you got no money.
Got no friends, got nothin' but strife.
You got sorrow and you got heartache,
You got nothin' to show for your life.
Lonely boy, ain't got no mother.
Lonely man, you lost your wife.
Lonely daddy, where are your children?
You be lonely the rest of your life.

Yep, you sure have rhythm. This is a real foot tapping clapping one!

Sugar Sugar boom deboom deboom
(This goes with it)
If it's country, it's country blues.
