Saint Paul's On-The-Hill Episcopal Church, from my window ...

In November, In Between
Autumn winds drag leaves from the trees,
clog streets in a dreary finale.
Bare branches crisscross the heavy sky.
Icy rain spatters, ink-blots the pavement.
I settle at my window, stare into thick gray flannel,
search the woolly lining of the day for winter.

Oh, I can relate to this Marianne.
I remember Northern winters, all to well.
