NaPoWriMo Day 28: Sleepy Time

Today, my challenge is to write a nursery rhyme or clapping rhyme. Most nursery and clapping rhymes have strong rhythms, use rhyme and repetition extensively, and aren’t overly concerned with making sense.

Sleepy Time
Hear that night train comin'
Comin' round the bend,
Hear that night train comin'
It's sleepy time again.

Little birds and fishes
puppy dogs and friends,
hear that night train comin'
it's sleepy time again.

Hugs for Mom and Daddy,
Gramps and Gramma, too,
Hear that night train comin'
it's sleepy time for you!

This little rhyme is for my granddaughter, Nora!
