#12 Baroque Snow

By lunch, the snow falls furiously,
mutant April storm, continues
thickly most of the afternoon,
covers everything whitely
in extravagant layers of icy crystals.
The wind, howling bully,
rattles the old windows, awakens
a strong sense of foreboding.
And suddenly, it's closer to the end
than to the beginning.

NOTES:
It seemed that spring had arrived here in St. Paul,
until yesterday when a monster snow storm began
to dump buckets of the white stuff all over the city,
inspiring me to write this...

We had a similar storm here (perhaps the same one)? I had the same feeling of fear when I awoke to snow plows rumbling out in the parking lot, just beyond my bedroom window. Not a good feeling.
