#26. Morning On Her Block

Neighbors out walking, distancing,
faces erased behind Corona masks.
Early sunlight gilds the tips
of the poplars on the corner,
faded arc of the spring moon
hangs in the southern sky.
In a few weeks, these same
pieces of sky won't be visible
due to a burgeoning forest of new leaves.
More dogs than people out today,
there's joy in the simple movements
and she's grateful. The moment lingers,
a sweetness she longs to capture.

Oh, but she has and now shares it all with all of us. Thank you, Marianne...

I love everything about this poem, Marianne. Nicely done.

Love,

You've painted a slice of life nicely, Marianne.
