Just another Sunday morning;
birds chirp, a lawnmower buzzes,
dogs bark, a child laughs.
But it's not a normal morning.
This is week number nine of a pandemic
that has spread around the globe at warp speed.
A few blocks away, protestors picket
at the governor's residence.
They don't like shelter-in-place,
want the state opened up again.
They want hair cuts and restaurant dinners,
they want to force the service industry
to serve them, these entitled citizens
who don't understand the words:
No, not yet. Not until it's safe for everyone.
They don't get it.
They.

Love the descriptions of a normal Sunday and then you take us to the reality of this situation. Thanks for this, Marianne.

Right on target, Marianne. It is very difficult to understand why some don't begin to get it, and how lethal the reality is...Good write.

Love the vignette of life and the reminder that we're in week x of the pandemic. I think it's worthwhile to keep tracking and writing. Thanks Marianne.
