Wordle 27

Brenda's new wordle from Poetry 180:
rusted-out * nods * ragged * beginning
glaze * rolling * stretched * straighten
drag * bridges * clouds * blade

What Happened When The Rain Came
Ragged clouds began where
the rusted-out bridge ended.
Thunder stretched and rolled,
razored lightning bolts
sliced the pewter glazed sky.
Wiper blades slipped off, began
to drag across the windshield.
Too late, she couldn't see.

The last line is full of ambivalence. Great stormy mood.

Marianne, you leave me with a sense of wanting to know more. Nice concise piece.

somewhat sad in the end, well penned.

It took me somewhere and scared me, Marianne. I pictured myself losing vision when driving, and the image of the bridge's end came up. Geez, my heart really did skip a beat. I've had a couple close calls on the road, and did a hit a deer once. Visibility is key. Strong write.
