New wordle prompt from The Sunday Whirl.
Use all, or some, of these words in a poem:
shine, mud, fervor, birds, thorns, owl,
night, crossroads, crocus, rose, thread, suicide
BUT WHO IS SHE NOW
At a crossroad,
it worries her that
she no longer cares.
She needs a cup of tea
and a good cry,
her thorny tears
brim the pot
with silver drops.
For weeks she's felt broken,
a crushed garden rose
trampled into the mud,
carelessly tethered
to the night
with a tarnished thread
of star shine.
He fell in love with
who she used to be.

Now she is herself..as she always was and always will be...cry..drink tea...but always be..and good people come...
I hope your protagonist discovers that nothing is forever....
There is such truth and sadness in this. None of us stays in one place, every step we take changes us and we grow. Pity he didn't as well.
perfectly done, with great emotion in it.
It's not good to not be seen for who we are than who we used to be. Randy
So beautifully sad, Marianne.
Nice to see you writing again.

Wonderful poem. Who will she be next? Transitions are scary and difficult, but on the other side, with courage...she will be fabulous! Can't wait!
I love this piece, Marianne. It mirrors my feelings at different times in life. "...carelessy tethered to the night with a tarnished thread of star shine." So very beautiful.
