#29. Greening

A few warm days, benevolent spring rain,
and just like every year since Eden,
the greening of her neighborhood begins.
Yesterday, the yard was brown and barren;
today, the trees and shrubs
have burst into viridescent bloom,
flourishing by inches before her eyes.
Tiny sprouts of ferns and hosta,
peonies, day lilies and phlox, poke
their dazzling tips above the ground,
pristinely green grass grows in every corner.
The pandemic seems very far away.

Yes, with the rain things come to life. Beautiful descriptions, Marianne.
