It's the ordinary things she misses these days,
remembers a few months ago
when she'd never heard of COVID-19,
when there was no fear of the virus;
now the horror is always on her mind.
She misses the regular passage of Time,
with a capitol T, when there was always
something going on, her schedule full.
She could spend hours making plans.
Now the seconds tick away too fast,
filling her days with emptiness.
She listens to her own breathing,
in and out. Slow. Deep. Calm. Breathing.
But, isn't that the goal for all of this?
To keep breathing, to keep living,
until we can all be together again, safely,
in the world. Determined, she perseveres.

She is doing exactly what she needs to be doing. For that she needs a good pat on the back and a warm gentle hug. I, salute her.

Golly, Marianne, this echoes my sentiments exactly. Glad that I could join in this week.
