Prompt for Day 28
Take a moment to remember an "a-ha" moment in your life. Write this prompt on your page. Free-write but don’t write a poem yet. Instead, go about your business of the day purposefully not writing a poem. Listen. Wait for at least 2 hours and then write your poem from the words your intuition and your free-writing gave you.
The Lilacs Are In Full Bloom
coloring the air dark purple.
My daughter Kate sits
on the front steps, an almost
cosmic awareness sustaining
her slender frame.
Call it feminine intuition,
let it blaze in giant letters
across the spring sky.
She knows what she needs to know
and everyone knows she knows.
She has the inherent ability
to see things intuitively.
A a woman, she is resilient,
secure in a world of gut feelings
and second sights.
She can roar when necessary.

Here's to being a woman! I wouldn't trade it!
:-) ME NEITHER~!
We are women, we can roar whenever the heck we want!
(Thank you for writing so beautifully to my prompt!)

Michelle--LOVE the last line of this poem! Very nice poem.
Very nice indeed. The final, externalizing/ contrasting line really pops and punctuates this piece.
honored.
My lilac is just starting to bloom. I swear, I go out to the porch ten times a day, just to breathe.
This is a lovely tribut to your daughter. She must be so pleased that her mother is singing
her praises to the four corners of the globe.
