This prompt comes from Kelli Russell Agadon: Write a poem of at least 40 lines that is a single sentence. Hints: try using very short lines, or else a lot of commas, as though you were a Victorian novel.
A Grain Of Sand
Vast
truths
can be found
in the smallest
things:
a single
grain of sand
resulting
from
the erosion
of siliceous
rocks,
whose
tiny, angular
crystals
disintegrated
from
worn-out boulders,
whose same crystals
viewed
under a microscope
are uniquely beautiful,
and
possess
a singularly
gritty, gravelly feel
when rubbed
between fingers;
that same, simple
grain of sand,
not to be
confused
with a grain
of salt,
just the smallest
trace
caught
in my shoe,
has a huge
effect.

Sometimes a grain of sand, seems like a boulder, Marianne. Aptly done.
