Sunday Wordle 6

From Brenda at A Wordling Whirl of Sundays comes
another great prompt:
cry * wind * planets * twilight
tails * turning * fire * leaves
against * afraid * fallen * striding

Somewhere In Time

day strides into purple twilight,
planets circle in sharp-edged silence,
cratered moon orbs spin and rotate, and
fiery comet tails, like gaudy trailing
scarves, drift against swirling gravity.
Turning, I hear a wild cry on the wind,
damned souls dropping into the bottomless
pit and I am afraid. I am very afraid.

Mariann, concise piece, not a wasted word here. I love the apocalyptic feel of this.

Marianne, This is strong and pointed. It heightens paranoia as I read it. Precise language, gaudy, undulate, abyss. Beautiful. This is one of my favorites of yours.

Great poem, Marianne. Reminds me of the setup scene for a scary movie of some sort. :)

Marianne, this poem has a mystical feel to it. Lovely!

The perspective of your poem makes me wonder about the speaker. Who is that I? To see the light fading, the planets circling, and the abyss - it does have a mystical/supernatural feel to it. I like "gaudy fall leaves".
