Sunday Wordle 11

New wordle words from Brenda at The Sunday Whirl:
fading * flew * hurtles * limbs
clears * toss * siren * turned
reaching * fresh * flossed * flecked

Car Crash On Stokes Avenue
July sun glares, faded bone-gray paint flakes.
Screaming sirens hurtle to a stop, reach
the old house on Stokes, witness to the accident.
On the lawn, twisted limbs and wreckage pile high.
Bright red blood flecks weeds and gravel,
sudden steadfast breezes clear spectral air.
Car turned too quickly, airborne, flew into a tree.
Victims never had a chance. Death commands respect.

A very different and sobering take on the wordle. Well written and to the point. Excellent cautionary poem.

A very intense piece of writing, Marianne. That ending is powerful, and very true.

Marianne, This is awesome and it got me thinking. What if an entire newspaper were done in poetic verse? Every article. Imagine that.... It's nice to have you back this week.
